BARLEY

Barley will mature earlier than winter wheat.  As a cover crop barley smothers weeds very well. Barley is gaining popularity as a forage because it tends to be high in sugar and very soft with high digestibility, making it very palatable. It's disease resistant, high yield, high test rate and early heading. It's commonly used for feed.
